About Sarah Woodruff

Sarah Woodruff is the central character in “The French Lieutenant’s Woman” by John Fowles.  She lives in the town of Lyme Regis in Dorset,  as a disgraced woman, supposedly ill-used by a French sailor, by the name of Varguennes, who returned to France and turned out to be married to another woman.

Sarah spends her limited time off from her domestic work on the Cobb [sea wall] at Lyme Regis, staring at the sea…

Sarah Woodruff used to work for a large American computer company for 20 years+ and worked in a geographically dispersed global team.

Now she has been working as a careers adviser for over a year. She got the job by going to a Job Fair, volunteering at a back to work job club, networking and direct approach. She is very happy now.
